For approximately 5 years, I maintained a collection of Uroplatus and sprayed them by hand nightly. Leaving the responsibility to friends and family was always troublesome for me, especially when I would take off for a few days or more. One roommate even broke the sprayer while trying to figure out how to make it work.
Needless to say, I always thought about a misting system, but I was too cheap to go for it. It became so much of a routine that I would never remember to get someone to spray while I was gone until the last minute.
Then, I started grad school. The busy schedule of field work at a site 2 hours from campus kept me traveling a lot, and I had no roommate or neighbors to spray while I was gone.
I know it sounds cliche, but my only regret is not getting a MistKing system sooner. It's taken the work out of maintaining my collection. Not to mention, it got me into the habit of using distilled water instead of well water, so I no longer have to worry about grimy-looking mineral stains on the glass.
I've got to add that the acrylic wedges are a must. They're easy to install and help keep everything secured in its place.
Thanks MistKing, at least now I can blame you for making me want to expand my collection again! If only you could make automated cricket dispensers!!!
